Synopsis[]
Finn and Jake chase after Finn's new love interest, Flame Princess.
Plot[]
This episode begins where "Incendium" left off with Finn saying he has a crush on Flame Princess. After Jake explains to Finn the events that happened while he was out, he tells Finn that she was evil. However, Finn does not believe what Jake has said saying that he "peeped beyond her burning gaze, and noshed hot lunch with her soul," insisting to see her again, the two set off and try to find her. Eventually they find her in a meadow looking at flowers. She touches some water which causes her pain, so Finn being the gentleman he is rushes to her aid. He explains that he really wanted to see her again because he thinks she's beautiful, but this causes her to burn brighter accidentally setting his feet on fire. Unfortunately when he puts out the fire, it causes the princess pain so not wanting to get hurt again she flees. Once they get out of the forest, she ambushes them with an assortment of fire attacks. So, Finn once again tries to tell her how she feels saying arguably the sweetest thing ever said on this show "I'm not trying to, I just like you I think I like-like you. Listen, when I look at you my brain goes all stupid and I just want to hug you and sit on the couch and play BMO with you. I can't explain it but: I've never felt this way and I think we should be together." This makes the Fire Princess very happy, but she's also at war with herself. She can't push past the pain Finn has caused, but she also likes him and comes to the conclusion that Finn might be trying to impede her. Since she doesn't know what to do she heads for the Goblin Kingdom saying that she will turn it into her fire kingdom. Knowing that they can't stop her alone Finn and Jake retreat to the tree house to build fire proof suits to combat her with. After stumbling on to NEPTR, NEPTR helps them build fire proof suits and integrates himself into Finn's. With their new suits they return to the Goblin Kingdom and attempt to stop Flame Princess, however Finn doesn't want to extinguish the fire because he knows that if he does it will cause Flame princess pain. Jake doesn't take such care and hurts her while NEPTR tries to use the armor to extinguish her. Eventually, she gets so angry that she transforms into a giant fire elemental, and Finn rips himself out of his robotic suit. One again, Finn is frustrated because he doesn't want to fight her but in her state she could burn the entire valley, so he feels like he failed. He then proceeds to cry, which when Flame Princess sees she stops the fire and destruction. She thinks that he is a Water Elemental because he creates water with his tears, she believes that they can't be together because they will hurt each other. But Finn insisting he can take it ties to give her a hug but fails and gets burned a bit. Flame princess then leaves and Jake saves the rest of the goblins. When Jake asks what happened Finn informs him that she left and ends the episode with the words "It hurt."
